Heidi's and Stefan's mountain wedding Written by: Liebesding

«We want greens and cows.» That was the first thing Heidi and Stefan shared with us about their vision for their wedding. Why is this so special? Even though the names of the bride and groom don’t give things away immediately, Heidi and Stefan come from the USA, where they also live. Hence, the two of them chose a destination wedding in Switzerland. Although they were looking for Swiss flair, they were also anxious that the typical American elements should not be missing. 

In true American style, the bride is accompanied on her big day by a bevy of beautiful bridesmaids. Heidi is no different. She met with her girlfriends for to get ready in a charming wooden-built chalet in Mürren. Since the bride and groom wanted to see each other for the first time at the wedding ceremony, there was no «classic first look». Instead, the bride’s father and brothers were allowed to see how beautiful Heidi looked before the wedding ceremony. The father’s reaction to his first sight of his stunning daughter is priceless.

While all this was happening, the groom also started the party with his groomsmen on the morning of the wedding day in a bid to calm his nerves.

 

The trip to the wedding location is a highlight in itself here in Mürren. All wedding guests arrived at the Winteregg mid-station by train – or rather by no less than four extra trains – and were all blown away by the incredible view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. It is hard to imagine a more idyllic place for a wedding ceremony. 

We have always been fascinated and inspired by weddings and events. For us, wedding planning means a perfect combination of indescribable emotions and perfect preparations.
