Miscellaneous Provisions Swiss Travel System
You are the holder of a Swiss Travel System ticket. These tickets are available only to persons permanently resident outside Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
- Your ticket is personal and not transferable.
- STS passes are being issued in printed form on security paper, or as e-tickets. Upon request, present your pass along with your passport or identity card to the ticket inspector.
- Your ticket is valid from midnight of the first day of validity until 5:00 AM on the day following the last day of validity.
- Tickets are only refundable if returned to the issuing office before the first day of validity.
- A partial refund of a Swiss Travel Pass/Swiss Travel Pass Flex is only possible under the following circumstances:
- in the event of illness or accident
- upon presentation for refund at the place where the journey is discontinued
- upon presentation of confirmation by a railway office
- Swiss Half Fare Cards are not eligible for partial refunds.
- Those passes printed on security paper will not be refunded or replaced if lost or stolen.
- Any manipulation of already entered travel dates is strictly prohibited and will be considered as fraudulent abuse.
Swiss Travel Pass / Swiss Travel Pass Youth
- The Swiss Travel Pass and the Swiss Travel Pass Youth entitle you to:
- unlimited travel on all train, bus and boat routes marked on this map with a continuous line. Show map of validity
- unlimited travel on all public transport systems in towns and cities marked on this map with a red/white dot
- purchase an unlimited number of tickets at 50% reduction off the routes marked on this map with a dotted line
- free admission to more than 500 museums and exhibitions in Switzerland. Show participating museums
- A seat reservation and/or supplement is required to travel on some trains/buses/boats such as Glacier Express, Bernina Express, Gotthard Panorama Express, Palm Express, etc.
- The Swiss Travel Pass Youth is issued only for passengers under the age of 25.
Swiss Travel Pass Flex / Swiss Travel Pass Flex Youth
You can choose any day of validity (3, 4, 6, 8 or 15 days) within one month; please enter the date into the corresponding field each day before starting the journey or activate your travel day before every first journey at activateyourpass.com.- The Swiss Travel Pass Flex and the Swiss Travel Pass Flex Youth entitle you on a validated/activated travel day to:
- unlimited travel on all train, boat and bus routes marked on this map with a continuous line. Show map of validity
- unlimited travel on all public transport systems in towns and cities marked on this map with a red/white dot
- purchase an unlimited number of tickets at 50% reduction off the routes marked on this map with a dotted line

Swiss Half Fare Card
- The Swiss Half Fare Card entitles you to purchase an unlimited number of tickets at 50% reduction off all routes marked with a continuous or dotted line on this map*. Show map of validity
- *Inner-city/town public transport: the fare reduction can be less than 50%
- The Swiss Half Fare Card is valid for one month.
