Intro
Deep in the enchanted forest of Ernen in Valais, someone has stolen Brüna the squirrel’s supply of winter nuts. Between gnarled spruce trees and moss-covered boulders, the squirrel’s story leads us through the adventure playground and inspires us with the pine cone run, swinging tree, suspension bridge, ravine trails and barbecue areas.
The Enchanted Forest adventure playground is located between Ernen and Ausserbinn, in the heart of Binntal Nature Park in the Upper Valais. Families with children between the ages of 3 and 10 can follow Brüna the squirrel at over 20 stations throughout the mysterious forest. They will encounter all sorts of animals, let pine cones roll on the pine cone run, fly through the air on the swinging tree, test their courage on the gorge trails, write a letter to Gogwärgli Schorsch, a legendary woodland creature, or experience the forest up close on the barefoot path. As they follow in the footsteps of Brüna the squirrel, children can let their imaginations run wild and enjoy many lively hours of play in the fresh air. After or between your explorations, barbecue areas with tables and benches offer a perfect spot to linger a while. By the way, Brüna’s adventures are also available as a beautifully illustrated children’s book, which can be bought in the local tourist offices.
Getting there: From Fiesch train station by PostBus to “Ernen-Wasen-Zauberwald” or by car to the “Ernen-Wasen-Zauberwald” bus stop (limited parking available) or to Ernen and then on foot (approx. 2km)
