Eaux-Vives Park
Overview
Intro
With its views of Lake Geneva, Parc des Eaux-Vives is probably one of the most beautiful and oldest parks in the city of Geneva. Nature lovers will appreciate the many hundred-year-old trees and the expansive lawned areas. Plage des Eaux-Vives (Eaux-Vives Beach) is also just a stone’s throw away.
Eaux-Vives Park, dating back to the 16th century, is the natural continuation of Parc de la Grange, which is accessible through a gate. The manor house dominating the park is a well-respected hotel and restaurant, and a perfect spot to fortify yourself alongside captivating views of the lake and the Jura mountains.
Eaux-Vives Beach was built to respond to social trends and upgrade the urban centre. The public facility with a 400-metre-long sandy beach is just a ten-minute walk from the centre, includes a water garden with rare plants and a park. The new haven of calm also includes a large esplanade for dinghies, a fishing village and a restaurant facing Geneva’s famous fountain, the Jet d’Eau.
