Getting away from the crowds. Scaling peaks with scarcely anyone else around. Being the first to make tracks in the fresh snow. It’s easy to see the appeal when it comes to ski touring. If you can already ski fairly well, then it’s easy to learn too.
Ski touring is growing in popularity. And is it any wonder, when you can immerse yourself in a peaceful winter wonderland and earn yourself a breathtaking view? With nothing but snow and fresh winter air around you. And then being the first to make tracks in the fresh snow.
Once you’ve done it once, you’ll be hooked. Anyone can learn ski touring. The only requirements are a reasonably good ski technique and a certain amount of endurance. And of course the experts who will tell how to navigate the open terrain. The rest you will learn in this course: How do I attach the ski skins to the skis? How do I handle the safety equipment? How and where can I plan a safe tour? How can I perfect my ski style near the groomed pistes? The local guides take guests out to experience winter in a way that may tire out your legs, but will leave you with memories you won’t soon forget.
Morgins in Valais is particularly suited to an introduction to ski touring with the first Valaisan hike-park installed. There are several well-marked and safe routes that are the perfect place to learn how to practise climbing in order to work on your technique or get in some physical training. A whole host of peaks in the expansive Portes du Soleil region beckons to those looking to conquer the mountain by their own strength.
