Intro
Above the treeline, on a terrace created by a glacier, you soon discover the sun-spoilt Alps of the Lötschen Valley: Kummenalp, Hockenalp, Lauchernalp, Weritzalp and Tellialp.
From the attractive Wiler village in the Lötschen Valley, a cable car takes the bite out of the 570-meter climb in altitude to the Lauchernalp – where a small and pleasing holiday resort with mountain guesthouses and chalets has slowly developed.
Scenic highland path with clear views of the Bietschhorn on either side – and ten tree trunks along the path to the Fafleralp presenting some interesting old Lötschental sayings. Pass hikes lead to the Lötschen Pass in the Gasterntal (Kandersteg) valley and over the Resti Pass to Leukerbad.
