Intro

Ittingen Charterhouse, a former Carthusian monastery with more than 850 years of history, is one of the most important cultural sites in the region.

Today it continues to promote, in a modern manner, its traditional monastic values: hospitality, care of others, self-suffi - ciency, spirituality, and the nurturing of culture, education and encounter. Visitors can learn about the lives of the Carthusian monks at the Ittingen Museum; encounter contemporary art at the Thurgau Art Museum; explore the various gardens and the labyrinth; savour gastronomic delights made from ingredients grown and produced here; and linger in the atmospheric garden restaurant. All this and much more make the Ittingen Charterhouse a popular excursion destination.
