Intro

Every summer in July, the Festival de la Cité keeps spirits high with the varied programme that it brings to Lausanne's old town.

Unexpected, unconventional, lively: there are many words that can be used to describe the favourite summer event for the residents of Lausanne. The Festival de la Cité takes place in various locations in Mon-Repos Park, the city centre, and around the old town.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a kid, teenager or adult, a resident of Lausanne or just visiting: the Festival de la Cité is open to all-comers! The varied programme means there's something for everyone – from theatre to music, performance to dance, and circus acts to street art.

The Festival de la Cité is part of the Lausanne Estivale programme, which offers events, concerts, screenings and tours in Lausanne from May to September. The one thing all these 450 activities and events have in common? They’re completely free!
