This is Lenk
Lenk is located in the southwest of Switzerland in
the Simmental of the
Bernese Oberland. With its glacier, waterfalls and excellent hiking areas and winter sports regions, the Wildstrubel makes Lenk a popular destination for excursions and holidays.
Discover Lenk
On your first tour of the village, you are sure to notice the
richly decorated wooden houses with their stone bases and sweeping pitched roofs. In addition, you will find many restaurants and farm shops in the locality. Outside the village, you will encounter the typical Simmental cows on the alpine pastures. A walk through the idyllic Lenkerseeli protected zone will bring you to the imposing
Iffigfall waterfall.
Springs and waterfalls above Lenk
The karst spring and the waterfalls of the Simme river are among the most beautiful natural spectacles in the
Bernese Oberland. For the best view of the
Simmen Falls, head to the Barbara Bridge: here, you will see and feel the water plunging into the depths below, tumbling over several natural steps along the way. Further up you will be amazed by the “Siebe Brünne”, one of the most famous karst springs in the Alpine region: Here, the spring water of the Simme bubbles up in seven main branches from a mighty limestone wall.
The winter sports paradise of Lenk
Around 70 cable cars and mountain railways on the Betelberg and the Metschstand carry visitors to
Adelboden: and it is no wonder - Lenk is one of the most popular winter sports regions in the Bernese Oberland. You’ll find action and fun in
the Gran Masta Park on the Hahnenmoos, in the ski cross parks or on the
toboggan runs. Alternatively, if you want to take it easier, you can enjoy the
cross-country ski trails, the
winter hiking trails or simply head to one of the mountain restaurants. And after an active day, you can enjoy perfect relaxation and recovery at the Wallbach adventure pool in Lenk.
