Brigerbad and its surroundings offer a wide variety of activities for hiking enthusiasts. The village is situated at the south ramp of the Lötschberg railway and connects directly with the BLS high trail.
Brigerbad at a glance
This resort is the ideal starting point for hikes in the Baltschieder and Gredetsch valleys. In the valleys you'll find the legendary "Suonen" (irrigation channels) which were built in the Middle Ages, as well as mountain trails with their famous marking. Thanks to Brigerbad's central location, visitors can reach world-famous holiday regions such as Zermatt, Saas-Fee, Chamonix and Crans-Montana in approximately one hour.
West of Brig-Glis, on the "sunny hill" on Lötschberg, you'll find the largest outdoor thermal swimming pools in Switzerland (25–37 °C) with the first grotto swimming pool in Europe, the longest Alpine thermal water slide (182 metres), the turbulent river pool, and the unique Olympic swimming pool with 4 50-metre swimming lanes.
The water is changed daily in all of the swimming pools and baths. There are 450 free parking places. A shady, well-kept campground**** with a biotope, games and sports facilities, offers guests a comfortable stay and memorable camping holidays. Pools: open daily from May to September.
