Selibühl-Panoramatrail
Overview
Intro
The wooden hills of the Gurnigel are an invitation to enjoy panoramic hikes during the winter months. Up on Selibüel, a magnificent 360-degree view awaits of the snow-capped Jura and the snowy Alpine mountain range.
Description
Up above the Bernese Mittelland, at the foot of the striking Gantrisch Range, stands the Gurnigel area. Surrounded by high towering rocks, this snowshoe trail mostly follows along summer hiking routes. The path initially leads along a woody ridge around the Selibüel peak.
Once you have virtually circumnavigated the Selibüel, it heads up the southern slope to the top. This offers plenty of nature and a fantastic 360-degree view. In good weather you can see Lake Thun and the trio of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The Nünenenflue and Gantrisch also offer an impressive backdrop. If the weather allows, to the north you can see as far as Chasseral, the highest point in the Bernese Jura.
The trail can be accessed from the Stierenhütte and Wasserscheidi parking lots, as well as from the Wasserscheidi or Gurnigel mountain lodges.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
