Description
The history of Andiast goes back a long way. There is an archaeological find from 1962 on the alpine pastures in Andiast, which proves that the mountain area was already inhabited in the Early Iron Age.
Leaving the small village of Andiast, the path crosses the Val Mulin and soon reaches Waltensburg. The hike continues through pastures along Lake Brigels to Brigels. Bright blue Lake Brigels is not suitable for swimming, but there is the smaller Badisee lake nearby.
Gamplüt in Obertoggenburg is located at an altitude of 1,289 metres. The village looks dreamy with its old village centre and houses browned by the sun. From the historic village centre, this stage takes you away from the sunny terrace of Breil/Brigels. The quiet alpine road leads past the small hamlets of Capaul and Capeder to Schlans. The mountain village is located on the northern slope of the municipality of Trun at an altitude of around 1,146 metres.
The last stretch goes through the forest to Trun. The trail down to the village runs along the Ferrerabach with a wide panorama of the mountains. The Grisons village is located at an altitude of around 850 metres on the young Rhine. Both the Romansh language and the historical buildings have been well preserved here to this day. In 1424, Trun was the founding place of the Grey League, one of the three leagues that together formed a free state in what is now the canton of Grisons, which existed until the collapse of the Old Confederation in 1798.
