Kunsthaus Zug Schaudepot
Overview
Intro
The high-caliber collection of the Kunsthaus Zug comprises around 10,000 works. The Kunsthaus Zug Schaudepot on the V-Zug site offers 700 m² for storage and temporary exhibitions of sculptures and statuary art by renowned artists.
The Kunsthaus Zug is home to some 10,000 works of art that together comprise a high-calibre collection of regional, national and international significance. However, its existing depots are full to the brim. By opening its display depot – the “Kunsthaus Zug Schaudepot” – on the historic site of the V-Zug company, the Kunsthaus Zug is creating additional space for both storing art and engaging with it.
Works of art will be stored here on over 700 square metres and presented in varying temporary exhibitions. The focus will be on sculpture and statuary art, with works by renowned artists such as Jo Achermann, Hans Aeschbacher, Trudi Demut, Olafur Eliasson, Bethan Huws, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, Katharina Sallenbach, Roman Signer, Fritz Wotruba and many others. In addition to art exhibitions and art education offerings, events will be held here to explore the genius loci of the site, with its links to industry, housing, research, culture and town planning in the urban district of Zug.
The display depot is part of the “KunstCluster Zug” comprising the Verein Atelier63, Verein Film Zug, Quartierverein Guthirt and the Tech Cluster Zug AG. It is being generously supported by the Tech Cluster Zug and by the Canton and City of Zug.
