Hotel Männlichen
Overview
Intro
The west side of the Männlichen plateau drops off in a precipice, while the east flank dips towards the glacier village Grindelwald -- in the midst of this natural throne lies the Mountain Hotel Männlichen, built in 1870 when Alpine tourism was just starting off.

The views from here are stunning: not only does one see Grindelwald, but also the Grosse Scheidegg, Engelhörner, the two glaciers that skirt Grindelwald, as well as the alpine Big Three, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau from their most appealing perspective.
But not only the stay is an experience, getting there is half the fun. There is an impressively long aerial cable-car (with 6.239 kilometers it is the longest in Europe) that connects Grindelwald Grund to the Männlichen, 2,229 m.a.s.l.
How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation from Bern or Luzern to Grindelwald via Interlaken. In Grindelwald, take the aerial cable car to the Männlichen.
