Urology is commonly mostly known as a specialty for men’s health. Andrology is actually only a sub-section of this specialty.
Urology covers not only the male sex organs, but also the urine-producing and draining organs of both genders, i.e. the kidney, urinary bladder, ureter and urethra. It particularly treats kidney and bladder stones, incontinence, urinary tract infections (cystitis), narrowings of the urethra, tumours and - in men - erectile dysfunction (impotence), prostate changes or infertility.
