At the Simmental brewery in Lenk, customers can experience an enjoyable guided tour of the brewery amidst a magnificent mountain backdrop. The whole thing is best combined with a breathtaking local mountain hike.
Simmentaler Braumanufaktur welcomes you with a cool beer amidst a beautiful mountain backdrop. After a short round of introductions with a snack, the 1.5 to 2-hour brewery tour begins, followed by a beer tasting. The staff are very knowledgeable and can tell you a lot about both the production and the flavour profiles of the beers. It is important to the brewery that an easy-going and friendly atmosphere is maintained throughout the tour. The brewery has some sustainable aspects, such as CO2 recovery during the fermentation process. The CO2 is then reused in a further production step. Furthermore, care is taken to use water sparingly and the spent grains are used for the in-house pastries, biscuits and breads sold in the shop. The non-usable leftovers are shared with local farmers to feed Simmental cows, and the brewery works with the Bergwerk Foundation, a foundation for people with mental or physical disabilities.
