In the small museum in the Chesa Fonio, works by the Sils painter Andrea Robbi are shown in conjunction with contemporary art and current themes in the Engadin. The exhibitions are redesigned twice a year and curated by the Stephan Witschi Gallery. Andrea Robbi (1864 - 1945) grew up in Italy as the son of a family of Engadin confectioners. After studying in Milan, Rome and Paris, he returned to Sils in 1898, where - unrecognized as a painter - he chose to isolate himself in his house on the Postplatz in Sils. Impoverished, lonely and forgotten, he died in 1945. It was not until 1988 that his paintings were rediscovered and this small museum was set up as a result.
