Intro
It’s dark. Only along the toboggan run in Elm do floodlights light up the night. This tobogganing by night, accompanied by fondue and raclette, makes for real winter evening fun. It takes place three times a week during the winter months.
When it gets dark, the lights are switched on at the toboggan run in Elm. Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, Sportbahnen Elm invites you to join the winter evening fun. Adrenaline is guaranteed on this four-kilometre route between Ämpächli and the valley station. Fast passages and steep bends alternate with more leisurely sections, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the mountain panorama on a clear day. The spectacular views of the Tschingelhörner and Hausstock are impressive. And it does not get much more idyllic than the Glarnerland by starlight. An unforgettable experience for snow enthusiasts.
If you want to warm up either before or during the descents, hot drinks and music can be found in the Glaskarussell bar at the Ämpächli upper station.
For culinary delights, we recommend a visit to the Ämpächli mountain restaurant on a Friday or Saturday. With a traditional fondue or raclette, night-time tobogganing becomes even more fun. If you opt for fondue, both cheese and meat are available to choose from. Raclette can even be taken off the menu.
The winter evening fun is suitable for guests of all ages and is particularly popular with groups. Warm and weatherproof clothing and a ski helmet are recommended, and you will have to bring your own.
