Via Alpina
Overview
Intro
The fifth stage encompasses a steep passage through a patch of forest and onwards to the largest alp in Switzerland, with around 1,200 cows, Urnerboden. Here, secluded forest trails are interspersed with beautifully quaint villages. Having conquered a few metres in altitude during the first section, the finishing straight to the stage destination is on level paths alongside the river.
