Hornberg Run
Overview
Intro
Many long straight stretches make the Hornberg Run an easy toboggan run. With only two somewhat challenging curves, it is perfect for families and beginners. The relaxing descent goes from the Hornberg to the chalet village Sannenmöser.
Description
From the Saanenmöser, the cable car Saanersloch brings tobogganers to the middle station. Then a transfer to the Hornberg chairlift, which goes to the top of the run at 1'800 meters above sea level, is necessary. The view from the Hornberg into the valley and onto the Gstaad mountains is fantastic.
The easy toboggan run starts about 100 meters from the mountain station. The relaxing descent, with several long straight parts and two somewhat narrower and challenging curves, is ideal for kids and beginners. At the Saanersloch middle station, the toboggan run crosses a wide ski slope. Here one must pay careful attention. Afterwards the Hornberg Run again leads away from the ski slope and tobogganers end up at the valley station of the Saanersloch cable car. Mountain restaurants and snow bars along the way are a great place to take a break. It’s also worth visiting the chalet village Saanenmöser on the pass between Zweisimmen and Saanen.
Tip: Suddenly up for more action during the ride? No problem: On the way there is the possibility to switch to the somewhat more difficult Horneggli Run. The toboggan day ticket makes it possible to ride on all the toboggan runs in the destination Gstaad.
