فندق بيرغ موتاس ميراغل !
Overview
Intro
If you want to get the feeling of walking through the most stunning picture-postcard scenery of the Upper Engadine, you should take the red funicular from Punt Muragl, close to Pontresina, to the Muottas Muragl with its vantage points and hiking trails. At the top is the hotel Mottas Muragl with its light-flooded self-service restaurant Scatla (a futuristic cube of glass and wood) as well as the rustic modern panoramic restaurant.
Information
Description
Ambience:
Both restaurants have a fantastic sun terrace which, however, is often too windy in January and too full in February and March. If you can’t get enough of the sensational views, you could stay at one of the 17 simple but beautiful rooms which have the aroma of Swiss pine. The descent down to the valley is either by funicular (daily from 7.45am to 11pm) or by toboggan: with its 20 curves and high-speed straights, this amazingly varied and 4.2 km-long toboggan run from Muottas Muragl down to Punt Muragl has a vertical drop of 700 metres. Toboggans may be hired at the valley station. There is no hiking trail down to the valley station.
Location:
Located at an altitude of 2,456 metres at the mountain station of the Muottas Muragl funicular. The epic views of the nature below are breathtaking and have been immortalised in many paintings by Giovanni Segantini. This is no skiing area!
Cuisine:
The panoramic restaurant offers an ambitious mix of market-fresh regional and Mediterranean food. The self-service restaurant Scatla has affordable snacks and food for those who only want to eat something small. Highlight: every Thursday, fondue evenings at the Scatla.
Good to know:
