The first historical mention of the Gyrenbad
baths is in the Zürich tax register of 1464.
The present structure dates from the 17th
century. The reputation of the medicinal
baths and sanatorium brought enormous
popularity; after the baths closed down in
1968, the Gyrenbad inn remained a popular
destination for outings and a much-loved
venue for social gatherings.
In 1990 a sensitive and award-winning restoration
of this listed building began. Now
guests can enjoy a successful blend of contemporary
comfort, historical charm and
sophisticated cuisine, that makes the inn live
up to its motto: “A gem in the country”.
