- Monte San Giorgio has been inserted in the World Heritage List since 2003.
- Monte Generoso (1,704 m.) is the mountain with the best panorama in Ticino and the summit can be reached by a comfortable rack railway.
- The Muggio Valley offers charming corners to be discovered, which are typical of the region.
- The network of paths in the region can be walked along in every season.
How to get there
Public Transport: The national rail network is extremely extensive, enabling the main stations of Chiasso and Mendrisio to be reached from any Swiss town.
By car: The region is crossed by the motorway axis which connects Northern Europe to the Mediterranean. There are three exits: Bissone, Mendrisio, Chiasso.
Other/Air:
- LUGANO-AGNO AIRPORT. After about half-an-hour's train ride from Lugano you reach the railway stations of Mendrisio and Chiasso.
- Milan MALPENSA International Airport. It has good connections with Chiasso with a comfortable bus service (approx. 45 minutes).
