Schaffhausen

The imposing Munot Fortress, Schaffhausen's landmark built by its citizens from 1564-1589, towers above the medieval town of Schaffhausen. The view from the battlements over the roofs of the Old Town is fantastic!
The houses of the Old Town are richly decorated with oriels and valuable murals. Narrow streets invite the visitor to stroll and shop, and in summer the streets of the car-free town centers are transformed into pocket-size Parisian boulevards.

If you are looking for peace and quiet, you will enjoy the herb garden in the former All Saints Monastery, or visit the museum with its varied collections. Or if you feel like watching an imposing natural spectacle, the roaring, effervescent Rhine Falls, Europe's largest and most powerful waterfall, never fail to enthral all who survey them.

How to get there:
By bus: Line 4 from train station
On Foot: 15 minutes from train station
